This feminine statuette represents a valkyrie, in her aspect as a warrior.
Shield-maiden, swan-maiden, executioner of Fate, initiatress in runelore and mistress of magic, the valkyrie has many faces throughout nordic mythology.
Such characters graphically appear on amulets, runestones or other artifacts.
This pendant is an reproduction of a unique jewel, partially damaged, found in a marsh in Hårby, Denmark, and dated IXth century.

This figurine is thought to be representing a worshipper performing an odinic ritual dance, or even the god Odin himself, armed with spears and wearing a helmet topped with two ravens.
This pendant is an adaptation of a design found on a bronze embossing matrix in Torslunda, Sweden, and dated of the Vendel era, VIth century.
